June 22nd, 2002(Greenville Pickens Speedway)- Tentative

Harris Speedway - 6/8/2002
Fourth Place
Harris speedway re-opened this week, under new ownership and management. We decided to travel back to where we won the 1997, 1998, and 1999 points championships. After a third place finish in the heat race, we started the feature in fifth place. We moved into the fourth position early in the race, and remained there for the rest of the event.
Harris Speedway - 6/8/2002
Fourth Place
Limited Sportsman- Due to low car count, we were allowed to run our "Stock 8" car in the Limited Sportsman division. Although we had trouble early in the race, we took home fourth place!
Cherokee Super Speedway - 6/1/2002
Fifth Place
This week's race was, again, at the famous Cherokee Super Speedway. We didn't run as well as we had hoped, but did manage a top five finish for our efforts! Due to the "Carolina Clash" race in town, we didn't get a heat race.
Cherokee Super Speedway - 5/25/2002
Third Place
After a week on the asphalt, we took to the dirt again! A full moon played havoc on the night of racing, but we ran well and finished in the third position, both in the heat and main event!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 5/18/2002
Second Place
This event was part 2 of the "Charger Championship". We were again fortunate to drive the #3 car for Frank Dean, and due to a little good luck, were able to start the qualifying race from the outside front row. From the start, we had a heated battle with the 27 car of Scott Mann. We raced side by side for the first few laps, until the caution flag came out. Since we led the last completed lap, it put our car in front. We were able to hold the lead for the remaining laps, and won! The feature was a 20 lap dash which had us alongside the #43 of street stock driver Vince Quinn. The 43 got around on the backstretch and took the lead. After a race long battle with the 16 of Terry King and the 20 of Nathan Bagwell, we finished the race in second place. This was our best finish at Greenville Pickens, and really had a great time!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 5/18/2002
Sixth Place
After a few weeks off, we returned to action in the #3 car owned by Frank Dean. This was a great opportunity for us, and it paid off. This week was the "Charger Championship" races, and the best of the best were there. After Frank qualified the car on Friday night, we were forced back to a sixth place starting position due to a driver change. After missing a close call on the first laps, we fell back to 11th position. The car ran great, and we made a last lap attempt to take over the 5th place at the checkered, but weren't able to make the pass. We finished in sixth position.
Cherokee Super Speedway - 4/27/2002
Fouth Place
Excitement was in the air, as we started another night of racing at Cherokee Super Speedway. A fast field of cars, and some really close racing were abound. We finished 5th and started from that position in the feature. A race long battle with the 57 car found us finishing just in front in fourth position. There wasn't a lot of passing, but was fun nevertheless.
Cherokee Super Speedway - 4/20/2002
Third Place
This Saturday night, we returned to the "Place Your Mama Warned You About". Fuel system problems continued to plague us through the heat race, but had it fixed in time for the feature. As we were making a challenge for the lead, we touched the wall coming out of turn four. This slowed us considerably, but were able to finish in third place!
Harris Speedway - 4/19/2002
Sixth Place
Harris Speedway had it's opening night this weekend, and we made it! In the heat race, the throttle rod came off, and that had us starting the main from the rear. We finished in sixth place, even though we experienced a lot of fuel system problems that we didn't get fixed.
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 4/6/2002
Ninth Place
This was our first trip to Greenville Pickens Speedway for the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. Our evening started great as we started from the outside of the front row! With 17 cars drawn for our race, it was surely to be a tough event. For the first few laps, we held our own in the top 5, but faded toward the end of the event, and finished in 9th place. We made a lot of notes, and are very hopeful for our next trip to Greenville Pickens.
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 3/30/2002
Rained Out
We were all ready to make our 2002 debut at Greenville Pickens Speedway this week, but mother nature would have no part of it. In fact, all local racing for this Saturday was cancelled due to rain. We look forward to this weeks race in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Greenville Pickens Speedway.
Cherokee Super Speedway - 3/23/2002
Fifth Place
This week, we headed back to Cherokee. Original plans would have us at Greenville Pickens Speedway, but unforseen circumstances(the car wasn't ready) stopped us. Instead, we teamed up with our good friend, Nathan Pierce, and drove his car at "The Place Your Mama Warned You About!". We developed a "skip" in the engine shortly after the start, but were able to have some great racing and finished in fifth place!
Cherokee Super Speedway - 3/16/2002
Second Place
Racing was fast and furious at "The place your mama warned you about". We started the qualifying race from 6th position. We worked our way up to second place before falling back to 4th. By only having one qualifying race, we started in the 4th position. After a few laps of side by side racing, we slid into the third position behind the 39 car. When he cut a tire, we inherited the second position behind the 27a car. We finished just a few feet off his bumper, as we finished in second place.
Cherokee Super Speedway - 3/9/2002
Rained Out
This week's race was called off, due to rain. We actually didn't even get to the track, and had to turn around and head home. One word.. BUMMER!
Cherokee Super Speedway - 3/3/2002
WE WON!!
On just our second outting, we had our first win of the year! The weather fooled a lot of folks, and the car count was way off this week. We were able to win the qualifying race, which positioned us in the pole position for the start of the feature. From the start.. We battled for the lead, before settling back into second place. We had a heated battle for the lead with Timmy Smith and Dwayne Whelchel, but fell back to third. With just three laps remaining, Smith had engine trouble, and we had an altercation with the Whelchel car. When all was said and done, we had the lead, and kept it to the checkered flag! Congratulation to the entire team, for their hard work!
Cherokee Super Speedway - 2/24/2002
Third Place
This is the first race of our 2002 schedule. It has been a long winter, and we were eager to try our hand at the "The place your mama warned you about" We started from the outside front row in the qualifying(heat) race, and quickly jumped into the lead. However, just by halfway, we slid a little out of the "groove" and fell back to second. We finished second, and that started us from the third position for the main event. At the green flag, we fell back to fourth, but soon worked our way to second. A lap later, we were battling for the lead with the 27a car, and were able to take the lead! An altercation with the same car, found us "spun out", and restarting from the rear. By the time all was said and done, we managed to work back up to a third place finish. We are very excited about our finish, and hope that more top 5 finishes are in store!
Harris Speedway - 11/17/2001
Rained Out
This week's race was called off, due to rain. This was the final race of 2001. We will be busy during the winter, preparing cars for next year. We want to thank Superior Cabinets and Custom Furniture, Ellison Racing Engines, Butler Photography, and Race-Track.com for sponsorship this year. I also want to thank the Jolley family and Jackson family for all their help and support.
Harris Speedway - 11/10/2001
Second Place
For the second week in a row, Ellison Racing Engines has powered the top two finishers! We were able to correct the prior week's problems, and the car was much better. A post race inspection found a broken shock, and probably the source of our handling problem. Regardless, we had wonderful luck, and were able to finish second again! Next week is the final race, and we are eager to run!
Harris Speedway - 11/3/2001
Second Place
Saturday night held a little different race, but with the same result. We battled throughout the race, but had mechanical difficulties, which really affected the handling of the car. With the right repairs, we should be right on track for next week..
Harris Speedway - 10/27/2001
Second Place
This week's race was an exciting one! After winning the qualifying race, we started the feature on the outside of the front row. We led the first four laps, with Timmy Smith(#6) making the pass to make the lead. The remainder of the race found us and Nathan Pierce(#7) in a side by side battle for the remainder of the race. We finished second after a very close three way battle for the lead!
Harris Speedway - 10/20/2001
Did Not Finish
Harris Speedway holds at least one big race per division, and this week it was the Stock 8 division. We took the newly purchased "99" car, and were very excited to be back. Twenty six cars qualified through heat races, and we finished second in our heat. David Ayers won the heat, but blew his engine as he crossed the checkered.
This would place us on the outside of the front row, beside our good friend, Nathan Pierce. On the start of the race, our cars touched, and we bumped the wall. That flattened the right rear tire, and had to come in for a tire change. We restarted in the 23rd position, and clearly had a long way to go. After gaining a lot of ground, we found ourselves in 7th position near halfway. Shortly after, we again found the wall in turn 3, and this time broke a upper control arm. This put an end to our night of racing, but we were VERY pleased with the performance of the car. We can't wait until next week!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 8/18/2001
Ninth Place
This week's night of racing included the Gatorade All-Pro series on the schedule! Our luck at the drawing booth turned around, and started the race from the second row. On the start of the race, we fell into fourth place, but slid out of the racing groove, and was passed by several cars. As the laps went on, the car got more sideways, and lost several more positions. By the end of the 10 lap feature, we were relagated back to Ninth Position. This concludes our season at Greenville Pickens. Our time there has been well spent, and it will surely advance our team for the next season!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 8/11/2001
Sixth Place
From the start, this looked to be a bad night. We drew "45", and that would surely start us in the rear. It did, and we started the feature in 15th, out of 17 cars. With the race only lasting 10 laps, it was sure to be a challenge. As it turned out, some race day set up changes paid off, and we moved up through the field. There were no caution flags to help our progress, but we were able to make a last lap pass to finish 6th!

Anderson Motor Speedway - 8/10/2001
Third Place
Our trip to Anderson Motor Speedway turned out to be a great one! We finished the qualifying race in fourth position. Though we struggled some in the main event, we managed a fifth place finish. Two of our competitors (in front of us) were disqualified due to rule infractions. This moved us up to third position!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 7/28/2001
Fourth Place
This week, we finished in fourth position. The race was slowed by several cautions, once when the 53 car (Terry King) flipped after an altercation with the 54 car.
During the race, there was also a light rain during our event, which made it "FUN" to drive. This was our best finish at Greenville Pickens, and it came on the double points night!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 7/21/2001
DNF
Luck appeared to be on our side as we had our best draw since we started at Greenville Pickens. After several great practice sessions, the features began. We started in the seventh position, but immediately had engine trouble. By coincedence, the hood flew up, and made us all scratch our heads!
Harris Speedway - 7/14/2001
WE WON!!!!
Nathan Pierce, and the "Showtime 7" crew invited us down to Harris Speedway this week. Nathan was feeling under the weather, and asked Wayne to drive the car. From the start of the qualifying race, we took the lead. Repeated bumping from the 39 car had little effect, as we won the second qualifying (heat) race. The start of the feature had Bobby Morgan (0) on the inside front row, and Wayne (Showtime 7) on the outside. After a failed first attempt, the race was under way, and we were out front. The 39, 0, and 29 fell in line, and stayed that way for most of the race. Thanks to Nathan, Max, Robin, and the entire crew for giving us the opportunity to race. This was a great win for everyone!!
Anderson Motor Speedway - 7/13/2001
Sixth Place
This was our first time to Anderson Motor Speedway with our Charger car. We started the race from the 8th position. We had trouble adapting to the track, but managed to get all the way to 4th position! Although the car got better as the race went on, we were back to 6th place at the checkered flag. This was a very interesting track, and we can't wait to get back, and try it again!
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 6/30/2001
Ninth Place
Before this week's race, we went to Greenville Pickens for morning practice sessions. We changed the springs several times, but stopped before mid day, in hopes that the track would be similar to race conditions. Rain set in just before the last scheduled practice, and therefore raced without the final practice. This week, we drew in the middle of the pack.. 10th. We were fortunate to avoid a first lap wreck, and when all was said and done, were in 5th place! Throughout the remainder of the race, we fought a "loose" condition, and lost several spots. We did manage to finish in 9th position. We learned a lot, and look forward to the next race.
Greenville Pickens Speedway - 6/23/2001
Tenth Place
Our second week of asphalt racing resulted in a tenth place finish. Again, we drew a terrible starting position, and found our 98 car starting in the 16th position. From the start, we were able to pass a couple cars, and got all the way to 9th. On the eighth lap, our good friend Frank Dean (#1) got back by us, and put us back to 10th. We had a great time, and are learning a lot. With only 10 laps to race, and starting so far back, we felt that we had a good night at the track!
