Late Model Sportsman

1. Body: All body rules will have a 3” minimum from all max. measurements.
  • Rear of car may be open, not to exceed over 76 inches, which is maximum width
  • Rear bumper may not exceed past ½ width of rear tire, or may have 90 degree turn and stay within rear quarter.
  • Front push bar is not to exceed width of chassis. May be braced.
  • Rear spoiler: 8” max. (No tolerance) and 45” maximum height from the ground.
  • You may fur Ford, GM, Dodge, etc. All cars will run GM crate motor.

2. Chassis: Wheelbase of 101 inches minimum.
3. Suspension: Any
4. Rear end: Quick change (any other type of rear end add 100lbs.)
5. Brakes: Any
6. Wheels: Any
7. Tires: Hoosier 55 Track Tire, 11 x 92 or 90x 17.5. Must have trade mark bar & punch 60 before race and 55 after race (All tires are subject to be broken down)
8. Drive shaft: Any
9. Transmission: Any. Must have working reverse. Must have safety loop.
10. Flywheel: Any clutch, any flywheel.
11. Engine location: (Chevy) 6” from #1 plug to top ball joint. 1” tolerance.
12. Fuel: Turbo Blue racing gas only. Must pass track test.
13. Weight: 2400lbs. After the race.
14. Radios: Radios are OK but will be scanned for blocking or any unsportsman like talk and will be grounds for disqualifications from the race.
15. Engine specs: GM crate motor only. Part #88958602 (350 factory stock circle track engine 88958602) all motors are sealed and must remain sealed and cannot be altered in any way (no vacuum pumps).
  • Carburetor: Box stock 650 Holley #4777. Choke flap may be removed. No 4 corner idle screws. You may run a 1” max. spacer with 1 hole and must have a 1/8” pipe plug for vacuum check. May run 2 gaskets .070” thick max. each.
  • Fuel pump: No electric.
  • Header: Any standard 4 into 1 collector (3” or 3 ½”) style 15/8” to 13/4” (no Tri-Y’s)

16. Engine claim: Claimer rule on motor of $2650, track will keep $50.
  • Only winner may be claimed
  • Only driver on same lap can claim winner
  • If more than one person claims the winner; the driver finishing farthest back gets first choice.

17. Engine Swap: Top 3 cars will be open for swap for $500, with track keeping $100.
  • Only driver on the same lap can claim
  • If more Than 1 person claims the winner; the driver finishing farthest back gets 1st choice
  • Engine must meet track specs before a swap (engine must be in good condition or claim is void).

18. Carburetor claim: Claimer rule on Carburetor-$350, with track keep $50.
  • Winner only may be claimed.
  • Only driver on the same lap can claim winner.
  • If more than 1 person claims the winner the driver finishing farthest back gets 1st choice.

19. Track will oversee all claims. Any unsportsman like conduct will not be tolerated. No grudge claims will be allowed. All motors claimed will be inspected for broken bolts or any other sabotaged parts, and will be handled with fines or ejection from the track and forfeit all money and points for that night.
20. No driver can claim or swap more than 5 times in one season.
21. Claim Refusal:
  • 1st refusal you will forfeit all points and money
  • 2nd refusal you will forfeit all points and money with 2 weeks suspension and a $200 fine that must be paid before you can return.
  • 3rd refusal you will forfeit all points and money with 6 weeks suspension and a $1000 fine that must be paid before you can return.
