Union County Motorsports Association By-Laws

Article I By-Laws
This document shall be known as the By-Laws of the Union County Motorsports Association.
Article II Mission Statement
The primary purpose of the Union County Motorsports Association is to promote good sportsmanship and to protect and enhance the general conception of all motorsports.
Article III Membership
Section A- Membership Responsibility The members' of the Union County Motorsports Association responsibility is to promote the mission statement.
Section B- Membership Expenses Membership dues are ten dollars ($10.00) per year. Dues will be due by August fifteenth (8/15) of every year. Dues not paid by August thirty-first (8/31) will result in loss of membership. Dues paid after August thirty-first (8/31) will have a late fee of five dollars ($5.00) charged. The late fee is to cover all expenses used to collect dues after August thirty-first (8/31).
Article IV Officers
Section A - President The responsibilities of the President of the Union County Motorsports Association will include presiding over all meetings, and a second signature on the checking account. No vote can be made without the President present, unless an absentee vote in writing, had been made. The president's term is for two years. If for some reason, the acting president cannot fulfill this term, the vice presidents will nominate a interim president, until the term is up. There is no limit to how many terms a president can serve, only that he must be nominated and voted on every two years.
Section B - Vice Presidents The responsibilities of the vice presidents are to be the spokesman for the racers and the fans of their division of motorsports. The same terms and conditions apply to the Vice Presidents as to the President.
Section C - Treasurer/Secretary The responsibilities of the Secretary/Treasurer will be to keep minutes of each meeting held. Minutes for the previous meeting will be read at the next monthly meeting. He/She will also be responsible for the financial report, that is to be presented each month. The Secretary/Treasurer has the first signature on the checking account. The same terms and conditions apply to the Secretary/Treasurer as to the President and Vice Presidents.
Section D - Advisory Board Their responsibilities and duties will be amended when a board is elected.
Article V Removal of Officers/Members
Section A - Officers A member of the association, can at any time, make a motion to dismiss an officer. The only rule is that a reasonable explanation is expected following the motion. A majority vote of the other Officers will determine if the reason for dismissal is sufficient or insufficient. The Officer to the recommendation is made of, does not have a vote. If the remaining Officers find the motion reasonable and sufficient a second motion can be made and a vote taken, otherwise the motion is void.
Section B - Members Members of the Union County Motorsports Association will too, be able to lose their membership. Members are to try in every way to bring honor and dignity to the association. any actions that may cause shame and embarrassment to the association may result in a suspension or probation of membership. Any situation brought to the officers will be evaluated and discussed by the officers. Suspension and probation periods are decided by the president and vice presidents, by a majority vote.
Article VI Meetings
Section A - Association Meetings Association meetings will be held the first Tuesday of every month at seven o'clock (7:00) p.m.
Section B - Officers' Meetings Officers' meetings will be held only when needed. These meetings will be scheduled by the Officers. Time and location will be discussed then. A vote cannot be made without at least five Officers present.
Section C - Annual Meetings Annual Meetings will be the September meeting each year. This meeting will be to present the budget for the upcoming year. It will also be the meeting, that new officers will be elected (every other year).
Article VII Structure of Meetings
A agenda will be at every meeting to set the form of the meeting. 1) Every meeting will begin with an invocation, pledge to the flag, and a roll call for the Officers. 2) Minutes from the last meeting will be read. 3) Each Officer will have a chance to make any comments or announcements. 4) Any business that there may be will be discussed. 5) There will be a member comment time. This time will be used to ask any questions, or to make any comments. 6) Adjournment.
Article VIII Amending By-Laws
To amend these by-laws, there must be a majority vote from the officers. If a majority vote is made by the Officers then, a majority vote is needed from the members. If a majority vote is not met by the Officers, it will not be presented to the members.
